Overwhelmed...tears in my eyes...

On Oct. 12, 1972, a rugby team left Montevideo, Uruguay, to fly to Santiago, Chile, for a game. Nando Parrado was one of those rugby players. There were 45 people on the plane, The Fairchild. The plane crashed in the Andes. Those that survived the crash did not know they would have to find a way to survive high up in the Andes for 72 grueling days.

Miracle In The Andes by Nando Parrado, is a book
that tells the amazing true story that will move anyone with a heart. I got the privilege to hear Nando speak a few years ago. The room was filled with a few thousand people. Everyone was so focused on each word Nando spoke that you could have heard a pin drop in the room that day. To hear Nando tell about his friends, family members and people he just met about this unexpected moment of his life was very emotional for me. This book had been sitting on my book shelf for about two years. I finally decided it was time to read the story. When I finished this book my feelings of grief just overwhelmed me. I felt such loss for all those who lost their lives. The story of survival is one of the most heart wrenching realities I have ever heard.

So many life lessons can be learned from reading this book. If you never give up you can do anything you want. If someone else tries to steal your dreams and give up on themselves never give up on you. You are the one constant in this whole vast world. Go out and be a leader...you are the one in control of your destiny. Love conquers all. Without love what is your purpose. Having someone to share your hopes, dreams and reality is what truly makes the world a better place for everyone.

Create A Great Week...I hope one day you will have time to read this book.

Vision...Which Do You Choose?

This is going to be a simple lesson for today:

1. Vision - Action = Fantasy

2. Vision + Action = Goal Setting and Success

If you are having a bad day figure out which equation you should be focusing on for the day. If you are having a good day then I know you are spending your time on equation number 2.

Create A Fabulous Day!

Can You Please Pass The Mustard?

What would the Fourth Of July be without the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest??? What a photo finish it was!

Please view the 2008 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest below:

I think they might need some of the pink stuff after all those dogs:)

These guys were on a mission - they set goals, worked on reaching their goals and at least one of them gets to enjoy the thrill of victory! Even though they both did not win the tie breaker meant that there was not a run away victory. They were both great opponents. There is a lesson in everything we do. I am sure we will see both of them again next year. Hard to believe how skinny both of these guys are :)

Congratulations Joey Chestnut!!!

Enjoy your Saturday!

3 Questions To Avoid Procrastination

I just got back from a fun-filled, relaxing week in the Bahamas! I stayed at the Atlantis resort and it was just fabulous! I wish you could of all been there...and you could of if you won the trip like I did with my company!

Anyway, I am here to talk about procrastination. I did not win the trip because of procrastination..I won the trip because I took action! While away I heard one of the co-founders of my company speak. He listed 3 question YOU need to ask yourself to avoid procrastination.

Here are the questions:
1) Do I have to do this?
2) Do I want it done so it is not on my mind?
3) Will it be any easier to do it later?

If you take time to ask yourself these 3 questions while sitting on the couch procrastinating I know it will change your attitude and will relieve much stress in your life. When you ask yourself these questions it will make you get up and take action. Why wait for later ...you will be glad you decided to do what should have been done and not waiting for the last minute!

Tequila and Salt - Thoughts For You To Consider...

My aunt sent me this email and it was quite interesting.
You may not realize it, but it's 100% true. Think about where you are in life while you read through the list and start smiling...

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received.

Forget about the rude remarks.

So.........

when life hands you Lemons, ask for Tequila and Salt and call me over! I also like GoChi and Vodka!

Good friends are like stars........
You don't always see them,
But you know they are always there.

'Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even Though Sometimes It's Hell in the Hallway'

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here than a whole truck load when I'm gone..

Happiness keeps You Sweet,

Trials keep You Strong,

Sorrows keep You Human,

Failures keeps You Humble,

Success keeps You Glowing,

But Only God keeps You Going.

It's My Birthday TODAY!!! So... I will Make Sure To Create A Great Day and You Create One Too!

Encouragement For You!

Remember you are your number one cheerleader. No one else can feel the way you feel, crave the way you crave, lust for something as much as you lust for it. Remember your dreams are your own and no one can take that from you.

It might take more time than others or more effort than others to reach your goals but remember...It is always going to work out if you do not give up on YOU!

Time Is Passing And Nothing Is Changing....

A good friend of mine once said..."Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out". I am not sure if this was his original quote or if he got the quote from someone else...I just like it.

Time is passing and nothing is changing...are your potential customers not looking at the information you are sending them? If so you need to change today and repeat the small positive efforts each day!

I know many of you are networking online to make business contacts to gain new customers, marketing representative or the bottom line to bring more sales to bring income to you. Many people who work in sales do not think about the best way to get information to their prospects. It is so simple but skipped over so many times and your efforts could be wasted.

Suppose you met someone at a coffee shop and they were interested in your widget you were selling. You proceeded to ask for their business card and told them you would get information to them ASAP. You figured since you use the Internet so often that emailing them links to your site was the best way for them to receive your information. What you neglected to find out from this potential customer was how often this person was online. What you did not realize, this person was a travelling salesman for a high end plastics company and he was on the road 4 out of 5 days a week and rarely checked his emails during the week! Your best bet would have been to pop a CD with information about your product in the mail to this person so when they were travelling around for those 4 days it would have been a time for them to listen with no interruptions!

Like people say ...stop and smell the flowers. You need to stop and listen to cues and repeat this action day in and day out. Listen to your prospect.

I have compiled a list of key questions to ask your potential customers that will help you day to day:

1) Do you have a commute to work? If so your best bet for them might be a CD to listen to during the commute

2) Do you like to read at your computer? If so then sending links would be beneficial

3) To go along with question number 2 above - Would you like to review information online or on a disk?

4) Do you like to read in the evening? If so then send them some reading materials, brochures, flyer's, pamphlets, etc...

5) What things are important to you in evaluating a business opportunity? I love asking this question because it leads to so many options with the conversation. This allows you to really hear what your prospect is looking for. If you are in network marketing maybe they will discuss the products, pay plan or ask about bonuses or trips. They may talk about long-term commitments with the owners and the reps. This will give you the information you need so you know what information to send them. If they are heavy on the products you know to send them product oriented information...if they are interested in the income potential you know to send them earning statistics.

Another important thing for you to do is remember FORM

F - Family
O - Occupation
R -Recreation
M-Money

When sending your potential customer the information they requested make a personal note and recognize one of these important key personal tidbits from the list above. If you show you care and took time to listen your potential customer will be more open to what you are offering.

Now that this is stated Is Time Passing And Nothing Changing for YOU? If you do not think you are in the best opportunity out there or you just seem to be spinning your wheels and you are not getting anywhere I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU! See why Oprah and these highly acclaimed magazines have written about this incredible fruit I share with the world!

In Profit! Need Help! Serious Inquires ONLY!!!

ONLY call if you are:
MLM leadership type or strong entrepreneur.
Commission and Bonuses with position.

Our key product is a new blockbuster nutraceutical product released on February 1, backed by double blind, placebo controlled clinical study.

I have a profitable downline leg for sale. Since January the sales for the leg have averaged about $15,000. I am looking for a seasoned network marketer to take over the leg. Last month we had brought in many new Marketing Executives to the leg and the growth is going to explode. We are opening Germany in the next few weeks and two of the new reps are from Germany with connections.

You are probably asking why is this leg for sale? The leg is still in my downline so it will not effect my earnings. The gentleman that is selling the leg runs his own very profitable family business that has been passed down through generations and he just does not have the time to devote to helping support the group. He is a dear friend and is willing to let it go so that it can be worked by an individual that can help support the leg better than he can at this time in his life. With all the new activity my friend cannot focus on this business any longer. If any of you would like to discuss this further PLEASE email me with your details and contact information. I am working on a few inquiries for the leg right now but have not made a decision so the leg is still up for grabs. I will check my emails often.

Are You Scared Of The Crocodile?

You are thinking...Crocodile???? What I mean is are you scared of rejection? Do you hate cold calling? Are you scared of someone telling you NO on the other end of the line. I was reading an article today about a gentleman that just hated rejection so he sought out a way to grow his business without rejection - at least rejection face to face or during a phone conversation.
Here is what he did:

1) You need some money to spare - This is your business so you need the money for business expenses that will be written off at year end.

2) With the money you need to buy promotional DVD's, tapes, brochures that contain information about the product or business you want to share with others.

3) Do a search on Google or another search engine to find Spam - Free business opportunity lists that contain home addresses.

4) Type a good letter, To Whom It May Concern or Future Business Partner or Nutrition Product User - whatever suits your needs. I would make the letter short and to the point. If it is not short you will lose your reader. Make sure the letter contains your contact information, phone, email, website. Also, make sure to tell the person to get back to you within a certain time period after they have reviewed the information you have sent to them. You should also give step by step instructions of how to place their order on your website. Make it as easy as possible for them. DO NOT FORGET TO include one of the promotional DVD's, tapes or brochures in the mailing.

5) Take action - send out at least 100 packages per day for two weeks and then see what happens. You should start to see some results within a few days.

This form of advertising is for the person that has some money to spare, time on their hands to send out all the mailings, and the person that is scared to hear a voice on the other end of the phone saying NO. It is also a great avenue for the stay-at-home mom that has kids running around all day and cannot get a minute to talk on the phone without being interrupted. The mailings can be filled in the evening once the kids get to bed and you are watching television.

I feel it is always better to build a relationship with your potential customer or marketing representative. For this reason I feel it is very important to be able to track those that go directly to your site and place an order and then YOU MUST pick up the phone and call them or email them. Your reorder rate will be much higher if you have some sort relationship.

Well, this is the answer to the best non face to face rejection free cold calling!

Do You Have A Plan B?

I Do! Turning on the news today was a bit dismal. When you see one of the oldest and at one time one of the most respected agencies crashing you have to sit back and say to yourself "Am I secure with the company I am with - long-term?" I am commenting on Bear Stearns, once the biggest underwriter of U.S. mortgage bonds. JPMorgan Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon bought Bear Stearns.

You also have to wonder where this world is headed when the second top news story for the day is the Heather Mills Paul McCartney divorce settlement. People are losing their homes - hey people wake up - will their divorce affect the common person? So you get my point - that means YOU - wake up!

So do YOU have a PLAN B? Are you seriously looking for a Plan B or do you think you will never lose your JOB? You say to yourself "I work for a solid company - no need for concern." Well, with the news about Bear Stearns, the cost of gas prices, a weak US dollar, and a stock market that is taking a roller coaster ride I think you need to have a Plan B - I am not your mother but just giving my advice.

I can only offer suggestions for you - it is up to you on what you do with that information. I have my PLAN B and will offer the same PLAN B to you.

Have you ever heard of legendary Wall Street investment banker, Anson Beard of Morgan Stanley fame? He gave Bill Gates his start in business -- a shrewd investment by any standards when you look at what it is all worth today. If you missed that one … Well... guess what?

Anson Beard has the same high opinion of my company - FreeLife International. In fact, you can hear all about it by calling our pre-recorded information hot-line at: the following number….

1-800-795-0222 and listen to Option # 4

It's well worth listening to. Also, take time to listen to some of the other options at the number above.

My advice: you don't want to miss out on this!
Whether you simply want to make a little extra or you're looking for a business sized income, there is an option waiting for you at http://www.cyberhealth.freelife.com/ If this does not open use the address bar not the search engine.
I'm looking forward to helping you take advantage of this unique opportunity with FreeLife. This can be your Plan B!

You can read about Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki endorsing the Network Marketing industry in their book "Why We Want You To Be Rich"

Can Someone Please Get Me A Drink?

I am happy to say I am glad it is Sunday! I have Tom Petty playing in the background and ready for my week to begin. I know this is going to be a great week because last week was a bit challenging - not going into details but trust me I know the Spring flowers are just around the corner and I cannot wait to feel the sunshine in my face while going for a long run. It will also be nice to veg-out on my new patio, with a nice cocktail and nice conversation with friends in the upcoming weeks (hopefully the temperature will rise a bit to make this all happen!) I will be trying out my new GoChitini's on my guests!

Here is my GoChitini recipe:
- 1 1/2 cups FreeLife GoChi Juice
- 2 oz. Absolute (or Grey Goose) Citron (Vodka) or Gin (whatever you prefer - I prefer the Vodka))
- 1 oz. Cointreau orange liqueur
- 1 lime (sliced for garnish on side of glass)

Combine FreeLife GoChi Juice, Absolute and Cointreau together, pour into glasses and garnish with the lime slices.

Beer Belly or Buff Body...Your Choice

I just got back from visiting a sick friend in the hospital. Sickness - death is a part of our lives. Being surrounded by it in a hospital is the most depressing place to be - at least that is how I feel. I wish there was never such a thing as death. I wish everyone I knew could see the importance of a good fitness routine and good nutrition. I want my friends and family to be with me forever!!

To keep a sound body and mind I try each day to work on myself. I would choose a buff body over a beer belly any day! A healthy body means a healthy mind - unless you were born with a preexisting condition or something happened to you that was out of your control I feel there is no reason to not get busy on becoming a healthier you...that means when you are done reading this get up and do 25 jumping jacks!

For me being active with a daily fitness routine makes me feel better. It does take time and dedication on my part. When I feel better I seem to accomplish more for my family, friends and business. It just feels so good to sweat!

I am going to help out my readers and list a few websites to help get you started on the road to treating your body right! I have listed a few sites that are updated on a regular basis.

Lifeskooltv - This site is awesome! Free On Demand Workout Videos. This site features daily workouts you can do from the comfort of your own home!

Neil McTeggart - personal trainer - Online Fitness Editor for Men’s Health Magazine.

Fitness Chapter - 20 something blogs about fitness

Better Golf With Fitness - Educating golfers about golf specific fitness. Great for anyone but geared towards helping golfers get the most benefit for their swing!

Muscle Hack - More Muscle, Less Fat, Less Time

The Fit List - Workout Tips From Celebrity Trainers

Nutrition.gov - Providing easy, online access to government information on food and human nutrition for consumers. Great overall nutrition informational site.

DietFacts - Data collected from food labels and nutrition guides - Nutrition facts and diet information on fast food and restaurants as well.

Of course check out FreeLife to add some great products to your daily routine! The GoChi tastes like liquid, strawberry Jell - O!!

Does Sex Sell?

The topic came up with a group of my friends. We saw a tidbit on one of the entertainment shows that Victoria's Secret may be covering up - meaning toning down their new ad campaign. It seems that they feel they are getting too "sexy"and not gearing enough towards the sophisticated side of marketing their lingerie. I do get the Victoria's Secret catalogue and some of the pictorials seem a bit over the top - especially when my daughter is by my side and wants to get a glimpse at the "pretty" girls. I have to turn the pages quickly or just look at the catalogue when she is not in the room.

There are several marketing companies that use sex to sell their products. Have you watched ESPN lately? If not you are missing out on some of the 'hottest" commercials on television. Sexual appeal is not only selling lingerie but beer, chips, cars, water and many other consumer products. Did you see the Paris Hilton ad for burgers? I do not like Paris Hilton - never met her but I just think she is a dumb blond that lives off of daddy's money and the money she has made the last few years with her silly television show and commercials - well, maybe she is not so dumb after all! The commercial brought a lot of attention and I am sure it has been credited with increased burger sales to the establishment, Carl's Jr. If you you have not seen the commercial here it is - sorry if it offends some of you but this is all relative to my article.

My question is...Are you more prone to watch a commercial that is "sexy" - not flip the station - or do you still flip through the stations even when you stumble on a commercial with sexual appeal? I will be honest - I like to watch the commercials. I am an attractive (at least I think so), married woman who likes a bit of eye candy once in awhile. There are two sides - attraction to the men and attraction to the women. I like the commercials where the guys are usually shaving or putting on deodorant. Those commercials usually show a buff guy in a towel. I respect those guys...I know they are just actors doing their job but it took dedication and a lot of hard work to get their bodies in that condition. As long as my kids are not in the room I do not feel a need - or want to switch the channel.

Sex appeal sells because it attracts the attention to the viewers. When marketing "sexual" appeal with your product you must make sure it is done in good taste and not offensive. If there is a way to make it connect to the product you are showing that is a plus! You also have to take into consideration your "branding" of your product, company and/or name. Do not let this type of advertising tarnish what you have worked so hard to establish.

In its February 2008 issue, Playboy ranked the 21 sexiest commercials of all time. There are commercial from 1967 for Noxzema, as well as, the infamous DORITOS 3D ad in 1998 with ALI LANDRY. Of course, Victoria's Secret made the list as well.

Looking Back...

Well...two months down in 2008 and only 10 to go! When 2008 came around I know many of you had many dreams and aspirations in your head...maybe some of you actually wrote your dreams down on paper. Before we get any further into 2008 let's reflect for a moment. Have any of you taken the action you have needed to reach your goals? If not what are you waiting for?? Are you still thinking 'I have 10 more months till 2009?' Take a minute tonight and write down a daily, weekly, and monthly plan about how you are going to attack what you need to attack to reach your goals. An example: write down my daily goals will be to contact 3 new prospects each day to tell them about my great "idea, product, business venture, etc." Believe me, if you take action and participated in this activity for the next 30 days I am sure you would reap the rewards of your activity. You will also feel good each day if you accomplished this little goal.

I just wanted to give you a little kick in the rear and wake you up and say there is no time like now to get moving and take some action so you can start living your dream!

Tax Time!

Yes it is tax time again. Didn't I just do this? Boy, a year really comes at you fast! I hate working on my taxes, but it has to be done and it definitely has its' rewards because I have a Home Based Business!

Since I run my business from home and it is an MLM or network marketing company, whichever you prefer, I must keep track of all of my expenses throughout the year and pay taxes on my income at the end of the year as well.

THERE ARE GREAT TAX BENEFITS WORKING FROM HOME! Whether you are involved in MLM, Network Marketing, or some other type of home based business you can benefit from the list below. To start here is a link to the IRS. When doing your taxes, if you are not sure about anything you should be able to find your answers on their site, IRS, or ask your accountant.

If you have been toying with the idea of starting a home based business then stop messing around and see what can become your legitimate tax deductions when you start working from home! If you already have a home business this will help to open your eyes and see why it is so important to keep track of all of your expenses.

1) The initial investment or the start-up costs you pay to become associated with your preferred MLM / network marketing opportunity, or other business venture. Also, your marketing materials. Do you share brochures, flyer's, DVDs, etc. with potential customers?? If so, you can use those expenses as deductions as well.

2) Your computer - If you are using it for your business and contact information then it is part of your business expenses. Computer and Computer supplies -- anything related to your business. If you have several people in your household, it may be a better idea to have one computer for exclusive use in your home based business and one for the rest of the family. Otherwise, keep good records of when you are working on the computer. Keep a log next to your computer so when you are on it you can log your time usage.

3) Your Internet connection - yes you are using your computer to market your product worldwide and to talk to your business partners and to drum up more business.

4) Furniture for your office or home office

5) Your long distance and cell phone service - If you are working a network marketing business or an mlm I know you are on the phone often and with people from all around the globe.

6) A percentage of your rent or mortgage - Do you have a space that you are using as your "home" office? If you are working from home it could be an entire room, a desk in the kitchen, your entire basement or any other place you set up your "stuff" to do business.
7) Gifts to business partners, associates or clients (speak to your accountant to find out how much per person per year is deductible)

8) Your utilities - Heat, AC, electricity. You are using all of these things when you work from home so a percentage of these can be deductions as well.

9) Travel costs to go to seminars and conferences. Deductible travel costs include hotels, airfare, taxis, car rentals, tips, and so on. Make sure to talk to your accountant and find out what and how much to deduct appropriately.

10) Most important - Get a good accountant that knows HOME BASED BUSINESS! Accounting and bookkeeping fees can also be a deduction! (including the portion of your tax return preparation fee that includes your business return can also be tax deductible)

This is just my short list of things that can be deducted if you have a home based business. I hope this list is helpful to you!
Make sure you plan ahead and keep track so that when taxes are due you are not looking around for all your receipts. I keep a file with individual folders labeled January through December. Each time I get a receipt, bill etc... I put it in the appropriate folder. At the end of each month, I enter what I need to into a spreadsheet and at the end of the year I give the spreadsheet to my accountant. I also give him the folders with the receipts so that he can make sure I did not miss anything. My accountant also knows the square footage of my home and he knows the space I have designated as my office. He does some type of percentage to handle the utilities.
As noted above...make sure you have a good accountant that knows how to handle a work from home situation. You want to make sure that can determine which expenses are deductible in your specific circumstances.
