Paul Newman...

I usually do not post gossipy stuff like this but to me this is worthwhile. Oscar-winning actor and philanthropist Paul Newman has died. He was 83. He was one of the greatest actors of our time. He made a name for himself because of his great acting skills not because he was a screw up that needed attention in the media like so many of the actors today.

Here is one of my favorite pictures of Paul and Robert Redford who also has melted my heart. I remember watching the Great Gatsby with Robert and I was a fan for life

Read more about Paul on the LA Times Obituary page.

Cookie Time...

On my run, this morning, a woman was passing me and I am one that says "hello" and "good morning" to everyone - I think that helps to keep me going. Anyway, the woman was passing me at the 2-mile marker. I told her I was contemplating turning back or going for one more to run 6 miles for the day. She started laughing and said to me she was just thinking the same thing. We both decided to forge forward with the longer run. A woman ran by the two of us a short time later. She had perfect form and speed. I said, "I have been running for over 4 years and my form has never looked as good as her form." The woman said to me that she has a regular running partner that looks like a pro as well. She then said to me, "It does not matter how you look or how fast as long as you get to the finish." The woman then said that she and her friend laugh because she thinks of her run each morning as her 'cookie' run. Each day her goal is to run so that she can have a cookie later that day. She said, "I might not look as good as my friend but I still get to eat my cookie!"

This situation is just like business - it does not matter how you look as long as you stay on the same path of those that succeed. If you set goals and move forward towards your goals you will be a success. You know the saying 'Whether you graduate #1 from med school or graduate last people still call you doctor.'

Just keep your eyes on your goals and move closer to accomplishing them everyday.

Crazy Bananas!

I just heard a great quote while I was doing a training call...

"The banana that gets off the bunch gets peeled"

Ok, I know you are all shaking your head and wondering if I just smoked the peel or what! If you are working in any type of business this quote should be easy to understand. Think about your business. Do you work with a group, team of people? If so, then are you a stronger person if you work together as a team or work alone? In network marketing as with any type of business if you can solidify your group, choose a direction you want to head, take action with your plan then together I know you will be rewarded much faster than if you did this alone.

Remember to appreciate your downline and appreciate where you started. Stick to it and do not be the one to leave the bunch!
Create A Great Day!

Do Not Wait For Leaders Do It Alone

I am in a melancholy mood. I am about to go watch tv of Palin speaking at the Republican National Convention and confused as to why this nation has to be such sticklers and bring her children into this media arena. Are her kids running for office? I am a mother and I guess the side of me that wants to protect the children comes out. Palin has enough challenges in her life without the media tearing into her kids lives. What if this were a male VP candidate? Would the media be so critical of what he was doing about his families issues right now or would the media be asking - "oh the poor wife how is she going to handle this situation". We all have challenges in our families - no one family is perfect. I respect Palin whether she does become our new VP or not. I respect her for her conviction and her beliefs that she has set goals for herself and has made a name for herself in history. Maybe some of my views are different than hers but she certainly has achieved her place in a mans world - Much business is done on the golf course and the men need to move over because I see a wave of women heading their way :) The men can stay if they want they just need to start hearing that woman can be as influential as the men.

Quotes by Mother Teresa

"Do Not Wait For Leaders Do It Alone"

"Do not allow yourselves to be disheartened by any failure as long as you have done your best"

"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless"

"The child is God's gift to the family. Each child is created in the special image and likeness of God for greater things; to love and to be loved"

"I never will understand all the good that a simple smile can accomplish"

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them"

I hope you all have a terrific night..Goodnight and God Bless
